# What happens when a volunteer joins or applies for a nonprofit?

## When a volunteer joins or applies for a nonprofit, their profile is reviewed by the organization’s admin. Once approved, they gain access to volunteer opportunities and can start contributing to the cause.

 

When you join an organization on POINT, you'll gain access to their private opportunities. Some organizations may require volunteers with specific skills or need more information before you can start. Applying helps them assess if you're a good fit and find the best opportunities for your interests.
