How does a volunteer bring other people to volunteer? (Children/minors/friends/groups)

Note: You can only sign up additional guests if the organization has the paid Pro subscription and has added it to their opportunity registration

 

Check guest subscription to the event. POINT now offers the option to sign up for an event with guests. This feature is available for events where the administrator has permitted it. For example, you can volunteer with your children or friends. Importantly, your guests do not need to have a registered account on POINT for this.  

Guests are divided into two categories: adults and children/minor guests. This division allows for proper configuration of the guest registration process in conjunction with other event requirements, such as waivers and background checks.

How do I register for an event with guests?

  1. When registering for an event, you will encounter an additional step titled "Additional Volunteers," offering two options:
    1. Additional children 5-17 (maximum of 2 guests)
    2. Additional adults 18+ (maximum of 3 guests) 
  2. Additional children 5-17 (maximum of 2 guests)

    Minimum age and number of children set by event organizer. You must enter the following information for each guest: First Name, Last Name, and Birthday, as well as any additional details like waivers or questions based on the event's specific requirements settings. 



  3. Additional adults 18+ (maximum of 3 guests) 

    You must enter the following information for each adult guest: First Name, Last Name, and Guest’s Email. 



  4. Finalize the registration for yourself and your guests for the event.

Select the "Previous Guests" option.


Once you have added guests for the first time, their details will be saved. This means that for future event registrations, you can easily select them from the "Previous Guests" option without the need to re-enter their information. 

Check guest sign-ups for the event.

To check if your guests have successfully signed up for an event, simply go to the event details page and look for the section labeled "YOU ARE SIGNED UP FOR:". Locate the "N Additional Volunteer" sign and click to expand it. Additionally, you will receive a confirmation email containing details about your guest's registration. 

 

Note: Canceling your registration for the event will also cancel your guests' registrations at the same time.
