How to Create, Edit, or Delete shifts?

"Managing shifts is essential for organizing volunteer schedules. This guide will show you how to create, name, edit, or delete shifts for your event

How to create a shift (see video below):

  1. When creating your opportunity, go to the "When" section in the second step of the "Where & When" section, then click "+Add shift" and update how many volunteers you need for each shift.

  2. Fill in the "Shift Name" and "Shift Description" so volunteers know the difference between shifts.Don’t forget to set the start and end date, as well as the start and end times, as needed.

Note: You can have unlimited shifts within an opportunity. Shifts will be shown in chronological order based on the times.

  1. Go to Opportunities, navigate to Manage Events, and the find the opportunity you need to edit. Click on the "Pencil" button to make edits to the opportunity. You can also click on the event itself, go to "Actions," and select "Edit" to make changes.
  2. Go to the "When & Where" tab, then scroll down to the "Shifts" section where you can make the necessary changes by clicking the "Pencil" button. 
  3.  Don’t forget to click "Update" in the "Volunteer Requirements" tab to save the changes.

  3. On the shift you want to remove, click the pencil button, then click the trash can icon to delete the shift.
