If you need to cancel an event, don't worry! You have the option to either cancel it or delete it completely.
Canceling verse Removing (Deleting) Events:
- Canceling: If you cancel an event, volunteers will receive an email informing them of the cancellation. Also, the event will no longer appear in search results.
- Removing (Deleting): When you remove an event, it gets permanently deleted from the system. An email notification is sent to all volunteers who signed up for the event. Removing the event means that it will no longer be visible to you or the volunteers. However, if the event took place in the past and volunteers had already served, their hours will still be recorded but the event will no longer be accessible.
How to cancel or remove from the opportunity details page (see video below):
- Under "Opportunities" go to "Manage Events".
- Select the event you want to cancel or remove.
- Under "Actions", you can select whether you want to "Cancel this event" Or "Remove this event".
- A box will appear ask you to confirm your request. Click the "Yes" button to cancel or remove.

- Navigate to the calendar view from the left-hand side menu by selecting "Volunteer" > "Manage Events" and then "Calendar View" in the upper right-hand toggle.
- Click the opportunity you'd like to edit.
- Select the "3 dots (...)" button and then in the drop-down menu, select "Cancel" or "Remove".

Note: If you need to cancel or remove an ongoing event series with our Pro subscription, you'll need to select "Cancel this and following events" or "Remove this and following events".
