How do volunteers check in using a kiosk?
Volunteers can easily search their name or email in the kiosk using the organization's ipad or computer to check themselves.
How to check in using a kiosk (see video below) :
- Type in your name or email into the search bar of the check-in kiosk
- You will be taken to a screen asking you if you are ready to check in to the following event. Click on the "Yes, check me in" button at the bottom of the screen
- A "You're checked in to volunteer" screen will appear confirming your check-in status

However, the exact check-in experience will depend on how your admin has configured the kiosk.
Here are a few common options you might see:

Check in with manual clock out
If manual clock out is turned on, you’ll need to return to the kiosk at the end of your shift to clock out. If you forget to clock out, your volunteer session will automatically be recorded as the full length of the shift, and you’ll need to contact your admin to adjust your hours.

Sign up for an event via kiosk
If “Allow Same-Day Event Registration” is enabled at that station, you’ll see a list of events that are available to join. This lets you sign up for additional same-day shifts directly from the kiosk. Learn more here

Log Non-Event Hours
If your organization has turned on Non-Event Time Tracking on the kiosk, you can record volunteer hours that are not tied to a specific event by using the **clock in** and **clock out** buttons. Learn more here

If you’re a new volunteer and your organization has enabled the Walk-ins / New Volunteer Registration option, you can create your volunteer profile and sign up for an opportunity right from the kiosk. Learn more here
