What is waiver agreement frequency?
The agreement frequency determines how often a volunteer must agree to a specific waiver. This setting is initially configured during the creation of a waiver, but it can also be modified later if your organization's needs change.
There are three specific options for re-agreement:
-
Once per version: Volunteers will only be required to re-agree if you upload a new version of the waiver.
-
Once a year, before volunteering: Volunteers will be required to re-agree to the waiver at the start of each new calendar year.
-
Once per volunteer opportunity: Volunteers will be required to re-agree for every single volunteer event they sign up for.
How to set the agreement frequency when creating a waiver?
-
Navigate to the Waivers section in the admin menu and click the + Add waiver button in the top right corner.
-
In the "Create New Waiver" pop-up, fill in the required information, such as the Waiver Name, and provide the waiver content itself (select either a Document Waiver or a Text Waiver).
-
Click on the Agreement Frequency dropdown and select your preferred option:
-
Once a year, before volunteering
-
Once per version
-
Once per volunteer opportunity
-
-
Click Save.

How to change the agreement frequency (Editing a Waiver)
You can easily update the agreement frequency for an existing waiver at any time.
-
Click Edit Waiver directly from the Waiver Details page, or select it from the general list of all waivers in your organization.
-
Choose your new preferred option from the Agreement Frequency dropdown menu.
-
Click Save to apply the changes.
The updated agreement frequency will only apply to future waiver agreements. If you need to update the actual text or contents of a waiver, you must add a new version instead of just editing the frequency.
💡 Pro Tip: Waivers are highly flexible and can be applied to both specific events and volunteer applications.
