How to use Community Volunteering?
Use this feature to find local nonprofits and volunteer opportunities for your students, members, employees, constituents or your whole community. We’ll track all of the hours and impact!
The Community Volunteer feature is an additional tool designed to help organizations (like schools or companies) connect their members with local causes. It allows admins to follow specific Nonprofits and recommend their events directly to their own students, employees, or volunteers.
This feature is managed through two main pages in the admin dashboard:
1. Nonprofits Page
This page serves as a directory of all available nonprofit organizations on the platform. Here, an admin can browse through the list and choose to "Follow" specific nonprofits that align with their school's or company's values.
2. Nonprofit Events List
The Nonprofit Events List is a central hub where admins can discover volunteer opportunities and recommend them to their community.
On this page, you can easily browse through events using the tabs at the top:
-
"All" tab: View all public events hosted by any nonprofit organization on the platform.
-
"You follow" tab: Filter the list to exclusively see public events from the specific nonprofits your organization is currently following.
How to Recommend an Event: To recommend an event to your students, employees, or volunteers, simply click the Star icon located on the event card (tile).
Once you click the star, that event is officially "recommended" and will be prominently displayed on your organization's main page. This makes it easy for your members to find and sign up for causes your organization supports!

How it looks for the Volunteers
When an admin recommends an event, it will automatically be displayed on the organization's main page (e.g., the school's profile).
This means that when students or volunteers log in, they will easily see a curated list of nonprofit events recommended by their organization. This visibility greatly encourages them to sign up and participate in the community!
⇒Track your holistic impact!
Your organization's volunteer hours are automatically tracked in POINT so that you can monitor your overall impact.
This means, even if the your students, members, employees, constituents... serve outside of your organization, that impact is still tracked.
