      Automatic Text Messages from POINT

      For contacts with a verified phone number, the POINT system automatically sends text messages to keep them informed about their activity and status. Here is a list of the automated messages sent to a user’s phone.

      Types of Automated Messages

      • Verification Code: This message is sent when a user first enters their phone number to verify it.

        • Message: "Your POINT verification code is <number>. Enter it to enable reminder texts."

      • Welcome to POINT: After a user successfully verifies their number, they receive a welcome message.

        • Message: "Welcome to POINT's automatic updates - so you can do good, on the go! Reply STOP to fully opt out, or manage notifications by org on the POINT app."

      • Event Registration: A confirmation is sent to the volunteer after they sign up for an event.

        • Message: "Woohoo! You're registered at The Nashville Food Project for the Weekly Farmer’s Market starting June 24th at 10 am."

        • General Template: "Woohoo! You’re registered at <ORG_NAME> for <EVENT_NAME> <and X more> starting <shift start date> at <shift start time>."

      • Event Reminder: A helpful reminder is sent to the volunteer shortly before their event.

        • Message: "<EVENT NAME> with <ORG NAME> starts tomorrow at <shift start time>! See details and manage on the POINT app."

      • After Unsubscribe: If a user chooses to opt out of text messages by replying "STOP," they will receive this final confirmation.

        • Message: "You've been unsubscribed from all POINT text messages. Log in at pointapp.org to subscribe again in the future. So long!"
