Little Green Light Integration

How does the Little Green Light + POINT integration work?

We provide two integration options with Little Green Light, and we highly recommend activating both to foster a beneficial connection between volunteering and donating. These integrations enable you to:

  • Send Volunteer Activity data to Little Green Light, so you can maintain a comprehensive record of volunteer engagement alongside donor records.
  • Add a Donate button to your organization's POINT profile, linking it directly to one of your Little Green Light Online Forms. This feature helps you convert volunteers into donors and keeps all your fundraising activity in one place.

About Little Green Light

Little Green Light is an outstanding fundraising CRM that keeps donor data organized and coherent. It helps nonprofits manage constituents, track gifts, run mailings, and automate fundraising workflows, all from one platform.

By connecting POINT with Little Green Light, you bring volunteer engagement data into the same place where you manage your donors. This gives you a full picture of who supports your organization, whether through giving, volunteering, or both.

If you don't yet have a Little Green Light account, you can sign up here and then return to POINT to set up the integration.

How do I set up the Little Green Light integration?

If you already have an account with Little Green Light, follow the steps below. If not, sign up for a Little Green Light account here first, then return to POINT.

Step 1: Open the integration settings in POINT

  1. Sign into the POINT Admin Dashboard.
  2. Click Organization in the left menu, then select Integrations.
  3. Locate the Little Green Light integration card under the CRM and Fundraising categories.
  4. Click View to open the settings.

Step 2: Send Volunteer Activity to Little Green Light

To send your POINT contacts and volunteer hours to Little Green Light, you need to enter your Little Green Light API Key.

What data is sent to Little Green Light?

Here's the information that POINT shares with Little Green Light:

  • Contact Details: first name, last name, email address, zip code, address, city, state, country, mobile phone, and birthdate (if provided).
  • Volunteer Hours: each volunteer hour record from POINT is sent as a separate Volunteering activity in Little Green Light.
  • Activity Information: for each volunteer activity, the program and event names are included, along with the date and time the volunteer started.

How will contact information and volunteer activity appear in Little Green Light?

Once synced, your POINT contacts appear in Little Green Light as Constituents. You can find them under Constituents → All constituents.

Contact information appears in the standard sections of the Constituent profile:

  • Full name in the Name Information section.
  • Email, phone, and mailing address in the Contact Information section.
  • Volunteer summary in the Volunteering section of the Giving Summary (total hours).

Volunteer hours appear in the Related Activity section of the Constituent profile, with the following details:

  • Each hour record from POINT becomes a separate Volunteering activity with the VOL. TIME label.
  • The activity title shows total hours and date range, for example: "General (5.0 hours from 2025-11-07 to 2025-08-11)".
  • The activity description shows the program and event details, for example: "Volunteered with [Program Name] '[Event Name]'. Started at '[Date Time]'."
  • Each activity is marked as Updated by API User, indicating it came from POINT.

You can filter Related Activity by Type (Volunteering), Status, or Category using the filter panel on the left.

How to add the Little Green Light Donate Button

You can place a Donate button on your organization's POINT profile that links to a Little Green Light donation form. When a volunteer clicks Donate on your POINT page, the form opens directly inside a popup, so they can donate without leaving your page.

This setup has two main parts:

  • Create and publish a donation form in Little Green Light.
  • Copy the embed code and paste it into POINT.

Step 1: Create a donation form in Little Green Light

  1. Log in to your Little Green Light account.
  2. Go to Forms in the top menu.
  3. Click Go to LGL Forms. You'll be redirected to the LGL Forms dashboard.
  4. Click Add new form to create a new donation form, or open an existing form you want to use.

👉 For detailed help with creating and customizing your form (including donation amounts, payment settings, and form design), see the Little Green Light guide on publishing forms.

Step 2: Publish the form and copy the embed code

Once your form is ready:

  1. In the LGL Forms dashboard, click Share/Publish next to the form you want to use.
  2. You'll see two embed options under the Embed form section:
    • Via Javascript: displays a clickable button on your page that opens the form on a separate LGL page.
    • Via iframe: displays the full donation form directly inside the popup on your POINT page.

💡 We recommend using the iframe code. With iframe, your volunteers see the full donation form right inside the popup on your POINT profile, with no extra clicks or page redirects.

If you choose the Javascript option, the popup will show only a link labeled "Fill out my LGL Form!", which takes the volunteer to a separate LGL page to complete the donation.

3. In the Via iframe section, click Copy to copy the embed code.

Step 3: Add the code in POINT

  1. Go back to POINT and open the Little Green Light Settings page (Organization → Integrations → Little Green Light → View).
  2. Scroll to the Donate Button section.
  3. Toggle Add Little Green Light "Donate" Button to Yes.
  4. Paste the iframe code into the Embedded Code field.
  5. Click Save.

Once saved, a Donate button will appear on your organization's POINT page. When clicked, the full Little Green Light donation form opens inside a popup, ready for volunteers to fill out.
