Use a kiosk to allow volunteers to sign up for events on the same day.
Checkin statin settings:
If “Allow Same-Day Event Registration” is enabled at the station, the system will display a list of events available for volunteers to sign up for. That is, Allow volunteers to sign up for additional same-day shifts via this station.
Kiosk Event Display Logic: Conditions for Volunteer Sign-up
The conditions a volunteer must meet for an event (shift) to be displayed as available for sign-up via the Kiosk/Check-In Station
A volunteer is only allowed to select one shift per event to sign up for via this station.
1. Time & Availability Conditions
- Time Constraint
Events (shifts) must have a start date that falls on the current calendar day (local time of the station). - Available Spots
Only events with available volunteer spots will be displayed. Events that are already full will not appear.
2. Program Filtering
If the Kiosk/Station is configured for a specific Program, only events that belong to that selected Program will be displayed.
3. Volunteer Profile Restrictions
- Group Access
If the event is private (restricted to a specific group), the volunteer must be a member of that required group. - Age Restriction
If an event has an age restriction, the volunteer must meet the requirement. If the system does not know the volunteer's age, they will be prompted to enter their date of birth when they attempt to sign up. - Gender Restriction
If an event has a gender restriction, the volunteer must meet the requirement. If the system does not know the volunteer's gender, they will be prompted to select their gender when they attempt to sign up.
4. Application Requirements
If the event has "Require a completed General Application for event signup?" enabled, the volunteer's application status is checked:
- Events will be displayed if the volunteer's application status is Approved or Waived.
- Events will NOT be displayed if the volunteer's application status is Incomplete, Declined, or Expired.
