How to Register for a POINT Account and Troubleshoot Common Issues

Registering Your POINT Account 

To begin your volunteer journey with POINT, you'll first need to register for an account:

  1. Go to the Registration Page: Open your web browser and navigate to the POINT registration page: https://dash.pointapp.org/sign-up 

  2. Fill in Your Details: Complete all required fields on the registration form.

  3. Verify Your Email: Follow the instructions to verify your email address here. This typically involves clicking a link in a verification email sent to you.

  4. Complete Your Profile: Once your email address is verified, you can complete the setup of your volunteer profile.

Common Registration Problems & Solutions

Here are some issues you might face during registration and how to resolve them:

1. "Email Already Taken" Error

If you've never created a POINT account but receive an error message stating that your email is already taken:

    • What to do: It's possible your email was previously added to the system by an organization.

    • Solution: Please send an email to support@pointapp.org. Our support team will investigate and can provide you with a temporary password to access your existing, unclaimed account.

2. Not Receiving Verification Emails

If you've registered but are not getting the verification email to complete your account setup:

    • What to do:

      • Check your spam/junk folder: Verification emails sometimes end up there.

      • Verify your email address: Double-check that you entered your email address correctly during registration.

      • Wait a few minutes: Email delivery can sometimes be delayed.

    • Solution: If you've tried the above steps and still haven't received the email, please send an email to support@pointapp.org

Some corporate email addresses block outside emails like ours. If you're not receiving POINT emails from a corporate email address, ask your IT team to "whitelist" all emails from pointapp.org or add an additional email and change your primary email to the new email address. Additionally, sometimes email providers like Outlook have blocked communications. We recommended Google emails.
